This is more of a rant than anything, why are all male protagonists so dense? This seems most common in harem situations where he is completely oblivious to the girls' feelings and actions and the meaning of them. And once he realizes it it's treated like some kind of revelation, you can discover hidden plots and the tricks of different TSFs in combat but can't notice something so basic?
