Muv-Luv Alternative The Animation Sound Track

The Muv-Luv Alternative The Animation Sound Track was released on December 24 2021, one day after the final episode of the anime aired in Japan. It was written by series veteran Evan Call.

Background[]

Evan Call, best known for his work on Violet Evergarden, has previously worked on the soundtrack for the visual novel and anime adaptations of Schwarzesmarken and was introduced to the project by series creator Yoshimune Kouki. He was announced to be working on the soundtrack for the Muv-Luv Alternative adaptation during the Breaking Dawn event in May 2021. Evan's own vocals can be heard on the track "Not Yet Dead".

The soundtrack is entirely original, however some tracks use themes from the original visual novel soundtrack, notably Kasumi's theme "The Mysterious Girl", which is similar to her theme from the visual novel, and "One Last Crash", which was used in the first teaser of season 2 and cites the visual novel's main title theme "Crash".

The cover features the Type-97 Fubuki, which has a prominent role in season 1 of the anime.
