A TSF manufacturer for the Empire of Japan, Kawazaki is responsible for co-development and production of the vast majority of Japanese TSF designs, jointly developed and produced with Fugaku Heavy Industries and Mitsuhishi Heavy Industries.

Beginning from 2001, they also cooperated with Fugaku, Mitsuhishi, and US-based Boening to jointly develop the XFJ-01 Shiranui Second.

Tactical Surface Fighter[]

A Japanese-modified version of the F-4 Phantom, the TSF, which entered service in 1977, was only withdrawn from active combat in 2001. Fugaku H.I. and Mitsuhishi H.I.
A Japanese modification of Grunnan's A-6 Intruder. Jointly manufactured with Mitsuhishi H.I.
A further modification of the Type-77 Gekishin, the Type-82 Zuikaku was a unit for the exclusive use of pilots serving under the Imperial Royal Guard. Jointly manufactured with Fugaku H.I. and Mitsuhishi H.I.
A license-produced version of the F-15C Eagle, the F-15J was produced in moderate numbers to bolster the Imperial armed forces while development proceeded on their 3rd generation design. Jointly manufactured with Fugaku H.I. and Mitsuhishi H.I.
The culmination of the efforts of the Japanese TSF manufacturing industry, the Shiranui was the world's first production 3rd generation TSF. Jointly manufactured with Fugaku H.I. and Mitsuhishi H.I.

Trivia[]

  • The name of Kawazaki is a spin on the real-world Kawasaki. Similarly with the Fugaku/Fuji parallel, the real-world Kawasaki focuses on other areas in aerospace technology, rather than combat jets.
