Isumi Yayoi (伊隅 やよい) is one of the main heroines in the original Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu and its 2011 remake version. She also appeared in Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicles Inheritance. She is the eldest of Isumi sisters. Landlady of Narumi Takayuki in Kimi ga Nozomu Eien.
The first born of a family of two musicians, with a world-famous conductor as a father and flutist as a mother, Yayoi took on the role of raising her her two youngest sisters until adulthood and managing the home as well as the apartment building they own. Michiru would leave the home before the others did, and by the time both Akira and Marika had left to join the military, she began working for the Imperial Home Ministry.
Within the Alternative universe, She works for the Imperial Japanese Government in the Home Ministry, in a division similar to that of Yoroi Sakon concerning the internal affairs of Japan.
In Muv-Luv Alternative Chronicles Succession, Yayoi is the bearer of the news to her sisters, Isumi Marika and Isumi Akira, that their other sister, Isumi Michiru died in a "training accident".
